Join Monarch Chamber Players for a special concert at Lambert Hall in honor of Metastatic Breast Cancer (MBC) Awareness Day. The program is inspired by stories and experiences of MBC patients both past and present, highlighting themes of life’s complexity, solace in nature, and the necessity of community. A new commission by Houston-based composer Nicky Sohn will be prominently featured, in addition to works by living composers, including Alice Hong, Jennifer Higdon, and Kenji Bunch. The music offers a small glimpse into the complex world of MBC patients with a variety of sound colors.
